We exist to build Christ’s legacy for future generations.
The Great Commission can be summarized in this way:
“PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL, MAKE DISCIPLES, REPEAT.”
Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8
It is direct, simple, beautiful, and challenging. God uses this process to build His Church throughout the world. In Greene County, Legacy Church is part of this redemptive story.
Since 2016, we’ve seen God save souls, restore broken families, bring victory over addictions, and change lives forever.
Being the church is hands on in peoples’ lives. The focus of faithful obedience is not related to building structures but being servants.
Gathering for corporate worship was once simpler. We were smaller and nimbler. As we loved our community well, more responded to Jesus Christ and more gathered with us for worship. As we grew numerically, we made necessary adjustments to make room for more gathering space, discipleship structure, and community investment.
“And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
In addition to our values,
a few unique elements have marked the Legacy Church family:
Harvest Worship Service in the fall
Backpack program to feed up to 100 children from Greene County Public Schools
Sports Camp for over 100 children during the summer
The rented office at 33/29 that God provided
Filling WMHS’ auditorium for worship
The use of tall oaks technology center for worship
Over 100 students involved in Student Life
Over 100 children involved in Pioneer Kids
A buckhead logo that’s surprisingly eye-catching to our community
These marks and memories demonstrate a movement of God.
It has come with changes and challenges requiring great faith in God, and as God called us into the unknown, He has always seen us through it.
After months of prayer,
God has given us a new step of faith.
It is a new facility that we will use to spread the gospel.
A barn is being built, and we will rent it on an on-going basis. We believe it will help us fulfill our mission to be a nondenominational Christian church that is life-giving, gospel proclaiming, and Spirit-filled.
